U.S. EPA Certification Is Expected this Summer
Watch for Icom North America to offer liquid injection equipment for a propane autogas-gasoline bi-fuel Ford F-150 pickup with gaseous-prep 5.0-liter V-8 engine. U.S. EPA certification is expected this summer, says chairman Albert Venezio.
The Propane Education and Research Council displayed a Ford F-150 with the newly announced 5.0-liter gaseous prep V-8 engine early last month at ACT Expo 2015 in Dallas.
Availability of the 5.0-liter gaseous-prep engine was announced by Ford at ACT Expo 2015 last month in Dallas (F&F, May 4).
Icom has also completed testing for bi-fuel Ford Explorer, Taurus, police sport utility, police sedan and Lincoln MKT 3.7 vehicles “with cert expected any day,” Venezio told F&F.
Testing has been completed, he adds, for the Ford Transit with 3.7-liter engine – to be available for bi-fuel and dedicated-propane autogas operation.
